Recent Absence

Hello all!

It has been a hot second, as I am woefully aware.

In essence, I have been busy with maintaining my own personal life, and this has resulted in a few changes that I will discuss here.

Firstly, River Writing, as a company, is now registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce, which means that it is now an official freelance instance. This means that I can use it as a brand to find work and expand this platform. You will notice the resulting extra information at the bottom of every page.

Secondly, I wish to discuss the state of Moonborn, Fireweaver, Steelborn, and other stories. I have not abandoned work on Moonborn, it is still being cared for, the main issue is the formatting. I have been trying to figure out if I want to make it one large novel or a trilogy of shorter tales meant to connect almost flawlessly. This is in the works simultaneously with Fireweaver and soon also Steelborn, which brings me to the next point.

Thirdly, the state of my writing style as a whole. As you all doubtless know, I have been actively experimenting with the matter of publications and branding. I think it is good to state that River Writing is and always will be a place for tales meant to inspire, connect, and, above all, build a world in which anyone can find a place of comfort. This is not going to change, no matter how many other clients I have to maintain to make this dream become a reality.

These experiments have resulted in me resuming work in projects that I believe have promise. I put time and effort into goals that I believe are worth achieving, but my mind is a stormy place, and my perspective often shifts. Whenever it does, my interests and inspirations shift with it, which means near-constant change in my schedules and goals. This is why I have ceased to make promises, it is the only way to keep this place transparent and representative of its values.

Allow me to turn this long information dump into something more comprehensible. I have not gone anywhere, and I have not given up. Writing is my passion, and it likely always will be. For the short term, to pay my bills and be able to do fun things with friends, family, and a special someone, I will also be working for companies like Giethoorn Hospitality, as a freelancer. In the meantime, my focus is on the tales that I want to tell, and someday these stories will be yours to read.

I am not promising any deadlines, but I will try my best to keep up the good stuff. Thank you for your time,

Good day, stay safe,

-River
