When the Stars Align
Keep in mind that all of the covers you see below are placeholders and function simply as distinctions between the parts. As it stands right now, none of these books are ready for publishing.
When the Stars Align is my life's work, and started as a simple thought, back when I was only twelve years old. Now, it has manifested itself as my main project, meant to become a series of three trilogies, three different eras. Fantasy, modern thriller, and sci-fi respectively.
More information will become available over time, but it will take a lot of time, as I want to get all this right the first time. It has appeared to me that stories evolve, and these ones have definitely gotten better over time. My question is, how much further can I go?
The Blue Throne
The start of the ‘When the Stars Align’ (WSA) journey, The Blue Throne is the central story arc to the first era, the fantasy era.
It follows the story of a man named Kida, a simple farm boy in the region of Kaya, in the south-west of Narrik, a fictional kingdom located to the east of Iceland.
The tale starts on a fateful day that would forever change the way that Kida viewed himself, his heritage, Narrik, and the universe all-together.
That night, a rider arrives from the western coastline, bearing the armour of the king’s guard, yet the loyalty of a vastly different dynasty. The rider brings Kida a message from across the seas, beckoning the young stable boy into a life he did not know he had left behind.
What follows is a story of legacy, fate, leadership, and royalty.
A tale full of mystery, unsung heroes, and mythical sorcery from the forgotten depths of history.
Listen to the Keeper’s verse, and discover a world where it does not matter from whence you came.
Flameborn
The second part of the WSA journey, and the direct sequel to The Blue Throne, set in the same fantasy era.
It tells the story of a group of eight people, named ‘The Guardians’. The tale starts out in the High North, the coldest part of the nation of Statera, directly to the west of Narrik.
It takes place right after the mysterious first appearance of the newly organised Fireborn Circle, following an obscure bloodbath that wiped out most of Statera’s most influential political figures, under which the father of Gyro Custos, the main protagonist. This marks the beginning of a battle long-overdue, and the start of an event that would later be referred to as the second Hellfire Crisis.
What follows is a story of vengeance, sorcery, friendship, and division.
A tale full of dangerous new foes, old enemies, and forbidden arcana from the forgotten depths of history.
Listen to the Keeper’s second verse, and discover a world where water can burn.
Guardian
The third part of the WSA journey, and the direct sequel to both The Blue Throne and Fireborn, set in the same fantasy era.
This is the story that binds its predecessors together, indefinitely. In this book, The Guardians and Blue Throne team up to conquer a common threat.
It will end the way it started, with an unexpected arrival. Gyro Custos and Phyros Miles, two Guardians, seek out the rest of their order to face a battle that they had kept hidden from their fellow Guardians.
In the meantime, Kida Roan is confronted by a debt he owed to an ancient enemy of the state, who seeks to reclaim what was once his in a similar fashion to his descendants, continuing a cycle that Kida starts to become painfully aware of.
The end of an era, and a time in which our protagonists must band together to save the world as they know it from an early grave.
What follows is a story of retribution, ancient history, and new alliances.
A tale full of finality, ancient threats, and new horizons from the forgotten depths of history.
Listen to the Keeper’s final verse, and discover a world where death is no longer a guarantee.
Overseer
Part four of the WSA journey marks the dawn of a new, darker era. Set in the city of Coredam, on the north-eastern shore of the United States, a new tale starts, one told by a different voice.
Coredam city, a place known for its abnormally high rates of gang violence, and notorious for the lack of law enforcement, is used to facing life-threatening situations. The citizens go to bed and wake back up knowing that a stray bullet could be their ticket into the afterlife that day.
Overseer follows the story of the three largest criminal organisations; Umbrae, the Militia, and the Agency. For decades, the Militia and Agency have been on the top of the food chain, practically ruling the city streets with fear and blood, with Umbrae supplying less material needs, such as information or influence.
But now, a new faction is rising. Seemingly manifesting over night, the mysterious Peacekeeper Force was formed. Those that many assumed were some kind of military division soon took the streets, reducing all of the city’s nocturnal activity to a minimum in just one night.
Nobody knows where they came from, or what they want, but the streets are about to turn into a warzone, and whoever can come out on top will rule Coredam.
Yet something was not right. As civilians and gang members alike gazed into the lifeless gas and safety masks of the Peacekeepers, more and more began to realise that something more sinister was going on.
And as the seemingly endless night moved along, some began to wonder what lingered in the shadows.
Listen to a new song and enter a world where shadows can move on their own.
Deathmatch
Part five of the WSA journey, and a sequel to Overseer, Deathmatch embarks on a new story, one more violent and even more unhinged than its predecessor.
The Peacekeeper Force has fallen, the Militia have been mostly dismantled, and the Agency will no longer remain operational. Umbrae has returned to their hideouts veiled in shadows, never to be seen again.
When most thought that, finally, the sun would rise after the long night, the moon shone its last hour, draining the final bit of light from the night sky, leaving behind only Coredam’s flickering neon lights. The government had officially abandoned the city, shunning it, and naming it no-man’s-land.
The skyscrapers fell into disarray, concrete started to wither away, and those that remained in the city, either out of need or want, fought over the scraps. The Overseer Project had been halted, leaving a massive power vacuum that nobody had the resources to fill.
Deathmatch follows two characters that previously shared the shadowy background; Dorian Vix and Raven Williams, two unlikely allies who were forced to band together in the face of a danger that neither of them could solve alone.
The duo took to Coredam’s now abandoned streets once more, searching for a possible way out of the night.
But what happens when they are not as alone in that battle as they presumed?
